I’ve recently been experiencing a slight rise in my blood pressure, so an article caught my attention, and I thought I’d share it with you.
High blood pressure or hypertension is also known as the silent killer, and it is claimed that lack of sleep, obesity, stress, salty foods, smoking, and over-consuming alcohol are the most common causes.
We should also point out that the age factor cannot be ignored.
Prescribed medication, changing bad habits, and adopting a “healthy life-style” are usually how people are advised to cope.
What I will now ask you to try is using acupressure to control hypertension.
I will use it for a whole week and report my results back to you.
The doctor of the famous Russian soccer team “Spartak Moscow” suggests that there are two points responsible for blood pressure regulation according to Chinese medicine.
Massaging these points will prevent disease and stimulate blood flow in the body.
Point 1-2
This is a line, which stretches from behind the ear cartilage to the center part of the neckline bone.
Simply, gently touch this line with the tips of your fingers. Repeat the procedure 10 times on both sides.
Point 3
The line starts from the face, approximately at the same height with the earlobe, about half an inch away from your ear, and stretches towards your nose.
Using your fingertips, press both sides of this line for one minute. Press gently; just feel the pressure.
If one does this properly and regularly, blood pressure will come down to normal levels quickly.
A short note on something completely unrelated to the purpose of this blog
The other night we were having dinner at an old friend’s house and I told them about an interesting fact that I had just read about.
They suggested that I share small “tid-bits” like this with my readers.
So here goes:
Yes, that is a vampire bat. Unlike fruit bats, they bite sheep, horses, cattle, and sometimes humans and lick the blood coming out of the wound.
Sometimes, a vampire bat will come back to her cave without having her blood dinner. They will die if they get no blood for 2 days.
Here is the interesting part; one of the other female bats will regurgitate her dinner and feed the unlucky friend.
They only do this to those who have done the same in the past.
Here are the points that stick out:
- Only female vampire bats do this, and
- There is a strict reciprocity ethic.
Wish some humans had similar traits.
That’s it my friends. See you all next week.
